Students will engage with hands-on activities: &#8211; Students learn playing in syncopation, process of long and short beats happening together, and through musical arrangement. Students will not only learn these engaging skills, but also learn how these art forms are an integral part of African Life and Culture. This process enables students to make connections between African cultures and their own lives. The esthetics, patronage and exhibition of\u00a0 mask and masquerade in tribal and modern\u00a0West African societies.
