Ceramic Work<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I learned at a very young age in Liberia that “Art” fills up space, makes things beautiful and tells stories.\u00a0This theory has become a\u00a0driving factor in my work as an artist. Like cave artists\u00a0thousands of years before me, I too want to fill emptiness. I want to create beauty.\u00a0I want to tell stories. <\/strong><\/p>\n

My first contact with clay work came while watching\u00a0my grand mother, Gowo (the voice of a leopard), repairing clay\u00a0pots broken\u00a0by me.\u00a0Her combination of earth,\u00a0water and fire\u00a0blew me away. I am fortunate to be a student of many a great professionals who keep encouraging my to try\u00a0new ideas. In Liberia, there is a saying, “One sits on an old mat to fix a new one<\/em><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n
