Won-Ldy Paye
Award Winning Children’s Book Author,
Liberian Artist and Performer 

Brings traditional Liberian cultural to life with his unique and exceptional One-Man Sow:                 
Tales From The Rain Forest.  This stimulating 60 minute Show includes:   

  • Traditional West African musical instruments
  • Stories from the rice farming region of Liberia, West Africa
  • Dances in authentic costumes
  • Themes of Respect and Community
  • Overflowing wit and charm

Won-Ldy Paye captivates audiences of all ages. He has performed in Liberia, Canada, Kathmandu, Nepal, Mexico City, Mexico, and throughout United States. His presentation is seen widely in schools, libraries and festivals.

He performed in KALETA: A West African Children’s Festival, at the Seattle and Philadelphia International Children’s Festivals, and at The Kennedy Center – Imagination Celebration, Washington DC.

Won-Ldy’s performance was featured in the American Library Association 2007 Annual Conference in Washington D.C. He is a regular highlight of the King County Library System and Seattle Library System.  Won-Ldy Paye was a featured “New Voice” Performer at the National Storytelling Festival, October 2008 and also as a Teller-in-Residence June 2009, Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Won-Ldy Paye performs regularly with Village Drum and Masquerade – traditional musicians and masked dancers from Liberia, and with Gansango Music & Dance, a traditional and contemporary dance and music company from Benin, West Africa..
